well, i kind of figured this would happen. haven’t been doing as much drawing as i should be. I had a little bit of a surge when i started planning on getting a tattoo. did some planning and sketches and had a real good time. then i realized if i get a tattoo, i don’t want it to be MY art on me… i want to find an artist who i like and respect and have him do his own thing. well, this time tomorrow i’m going to have exactly that.

in the honor of tattoos, here’s the sketch i did for what i had originally wanted… and is completely different from what i’m getting. perhaps someday i’ll revisit this idea. i still need a true till death tattoo to match my darling wife, after all!

well, i haven’t done any new drawings yet. i had waaay too much work to do before i could leave for vacation and all free time was spent with my darling wife and her lovely parents. promise to get some drawing done when i get back. promise!! in the meantime, here’s some older stuff i scanned to make sure the scanner works ok.

ordered a scanner online last night! should be here in about a week! so exciting, can’t wait to post more stuff!!

*UPDATE: Scanner is actually going to be delivered TODAY (friday)! yay!

i also did some design stuff recently that i’m proud of. most of my job consists of creating t-shirts for colleges which isn’t terribly exciting. the other part of my job, which is only about 15% of my workload, is designing stuff for bands. mostly it’s simple t-shirt designs, but every now and then i get to design a website or go crazy with a CD cover. in the past month, i’ve gotten to do BOTH for one of our new bands, The Alternate Routes. take a look!

The CD cover was created in a day. not even and entire day… more like a couple of hours. it’s kind of fun whipping up something in a short period of time and having the client like it!

i was threatened with physical violence (not really) by the infamous EMOLL™ if i didn’t create this blog. so here it is. i’m not much for talkie-talkie, so most likely i’ll just post drawings when i do them with descriptions, inspirations, critiques etc. hopefully it’ll kick my butt into drawing more, because drawing makes me happy! now i just need to find a theme i like!
