Posted in drawings. on June 5, 2010 by waxthirteenwell, i kind of figured this would happen. haven’t been doing as much drawing as i should be. I had a little bit of a surge when i started planning on getting a tattoo. did some planning and sketches and had a real good time. then i realized if i get a tattoo, i don’t want it to be MY art on me… i want to find an artist who i like and respect and have him do his own thing. well, this time tomorrow i’m going to have exactly that.
in the honor of tattoos, here’s the sketch i did for what i had originally wanted… and is completely different from what i’m getting. perhaps someday i’ll revisit this idea. i still need a true till death tattoo to match my darling wife, after all!

Posted in design stuff. on May 12, 2010 by waxthirteeni also did some design stuff recently that i’m proud of. most of my job consists of creating t-shirts for colleges which isn’t terribly exciting. the other part of my job, which is only about 15% of my workload, is designing stuff for bands. mostly it’s simple t-shirt designs, but every now and then i get to design a website or go crazy with a CD cover. in the past month, i’ve gotten to do BOTH for one of our new bands, The Alternate Routes. take a look!

The CD cover was created in a day. not even and entire day… more like a couple of hours. it’s kind of fun whipping up something in a short period of time and having the client like it!
